Don't neglect your body. Get worked on regularly - find another therapist to trade with.
Keep your liability insurance current. People can try to sue you for everything.
I loved doing chair at Wholefoods, but I injured my wrists doing it for 2 years. Make sure to balance out the modalities you do so as not to overwork any one part of yourself.
Taxes: If you are working for yourself, put aside at least 30% and don't touch it for anything other than taxes! I learned this one the hard way =/
As far as places to work, make sure to get stuff in writing re: your percentages, etc. The chain places *cough*massage envy*cough are assembly line sweatshops. I worked at a ME two days and felt like I was selling my soul!! Most people getting a $39 massage do not tip, and you only get $15-$19 dollars out of that rate.
Good luck! I would also advise to keep learning! Add to your basic training -- stuff like Reiki and other energy work.
